The Founder
A Story Made with Intention
It's a legacy in the making
Every arrangement that leaves this boutique carries a story that started long before the first stem was cut. MAYDE was built by Taylor Breshears — founder, creative director, and a woman who learned resilience years before she learned business.
This is her letter to you.

Resilience Before Business
I became a mother at fifteen. Before I understood profit margins or supply chains, I understood what it means to show up — every day, without exception, for something bigger than yourself. That kind of responsibility teaches you things no classroom can. It taught me that circumstances are a starting point, not a ceiling. It taught me that the most meaningful things in life are built slowly, deliberately, and with your whole heart. Those lessons are in everything MAYDE touches.

The Long Road Here
My path was not a straight line, and I would not trade a mile of it. I built a trucking company from nothing — negotiating dedicated lanes, managing drivers, learning what it takes to keep promises when the margin for error is zero. I worked in finance, where I learned discipline. Real estate, where I learned how people fall in love with spaces. Retail and e-commerce, where I learned that the details customers never consciously notice are the ones they feel most. And floral design — where everything I had learned finally found its form.
Each chapter looked different from the outside. From the inside, they were the same education: how to build something people can trust.

Watching the Palladio Rise
I grew up in El Dorado Hills. I watched the Palladio being built — the cranes, the scaffolding, the slow arrival of something beautiful in a place I called home. I remember thinking that one day I wanted to build something worthy of a place like that. Opening MAYDE at Palladio at Broadstone is not a business decision to me. It is a homecoming. This community raised me, and this boutique is how I give something lasting back to it.

Why MAYDE
MAYDE reads the way it sounds — made. Everything here is made with intention: the arrangements our designers compose by hand, the gifts we curate one relationship at a time, the way you are greeted when you walk through the door. I did not set out to open another flower shop. Folsom has flower shops. I set out to build a destination — a place people return to for the moments that shape a life. Birthdays and apologies. New homes and hard goodbyes. Anniversaries, promotions, Tuesdays that deserved more than they got.
This is not just a business. It is a legacy in the making — for my family, and for every person who walks in looking for a way to say something that matters.
