The Hands Behind the Work

Taylor is the eye behind MAYDE. An El Dorado Hills native, she came to floral design after building businesses in trucking, finance, real estate, retail, and e-commerce — a background that shows in the way this boutique runs. She holds every arrangement to the same question: would I be proud to hand this to someone I love? Her design sensibility favors restraint over volume, texture over filler, and intention over trend. She reviews the standard for every collection that carries the MAYDE name, and on most days you will find her in the studio, apron on, working alongside the team.

Our designers are trained in the MAYDE way: condition every stem before it touches a vessel, build from structure outward, and edit ruthlessly. A MAYDE arrangement is composed, not stuffed. Each designer works from the day's freshest blooms and a design brief rooted in the occasion — because an arrangement for a proposal should not look like an arrangement for a boardroom, and both deserve to be right.

Curation is its own craft. The people who select what sits on our shelves — the candles, the objects, the small luxuries that finish a gift — evaluate every item against a simple test: is it something we would keep, burn, use, and love in our own homes? If the answer wavers, it does not make the shelf. Our curators also build custom gift boxes to order, pairing florals with fragrance, champagne, and chocolates so the whole gift speaks with one voice.

Titles matter less here than the standard. Everyone at MAYDE — from the designer composing a bridal bouquet to the person hand-writing your card message — works to the same three commitments: intention in every detail, honesty in every recommendation, and care in every handoff. When your gift arrives, it should feel like it was made for one person. Because it was.
